The Bug is a "flu-like illness" that swept Washington, D.C. on April 19th. Many leaders and people of influence stayed home from their jobs to avoid getting the disease, leaving several high-security areas unprotected.[1] This disease is thought to be started by either the Drudge, or the antagonist of the story, Prometheus.
